Lynda allways had a dream to visit UK - Her dream came true in September/October 2013
We flew from Cape Town to Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol) on 2nd September 2013 on KLM. A few hours wait over at the airport then flew to Humberside Airport. We where met at the airport by Otto Peetoom – A fellow 1964 Cadet from the General Botha Naval Academy. He had arranged for us to stay in a friend’s house, who was away, opposite to his place in Roos, a village in East Riding of Yorkshire. We spent a few days with him in Roos on arrival and then again on the way home.
This is Lynda and Gordon’s story of their adventure to the UK in 2013, with some geographical and historical information thrown in for fun.
